Firstly you will head up the East Tamar Highway on a relaxed dual lane highway with good verge.
Now here we go! Are you ready for the finger post hill? You will need a 25 cog on the back to get up this bad boy. But don’t panic, this is the hardest part of the ride. From here you will continue along a semi busy Lilydale Road. (Be aware that Lilydale is your only toilet and drink stop!)
Upon leaving Lilydale you will pass Lilydale Falls and get ready for a big climb up Grandfields Hill. Following this you can now enjoy the rolling hills to Scottsdale. In Scottsdale you will find the Cottage Bakery and toilets, it is time to refuel ready for the climb home.
Ready yourself for the winding switchbacks as you climb the sideling but keep in mind this is an arterial road with regular vehicles. Make sure you stop at the lookout and take a selfie with the stunning view of the North East and use the toilets if you need.
It is mostly down hill from here, just one climb left after the Nunamara shop and then a nice quick descent into Launceston.
